Event Purpose

The annual fall fundraiser raises money for HOPE Network’s educational scholarships, which allows single mothers to pursue or continue their secondary education.

After running successful yet time-intensive and volunteer-intensive silent auctions at previous events, HOPE Network for Single Mothers wanted to try mobile bidding for the first time. The organization needed someone to manage the process before, during and after the event.


Joined By Purpose worked with the event committee to turn their large silent auction into a combined in-person and online auction. This enabled people who couldn’t attend the event to still participate in the auction, which helped to increase awareness and raise more money. We helped committee members format auction item names, descriptions, and categories to fit the platform’s specified format. The auction platform not only handled the auction items but also accommodated raffle tickets, donations, a registration page, and event announcements. During the event, Joined By Purpose trained & supervised volunteers to register attendees, provide guidance with bidding, and run the auction check out at the end of the night. Following the event, we ran reports to provide valuable insights on donor bidding activity.
